  1. I want to setup an online petition in a wordpress blog.

Would it be possible to point me in the right direction?

    TIA

  2. Thank you very much for your reply!

I found out a wordpress plug-in, but it cannot be used at wordpress.com, so I decided to go along with iPetitions at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/stopwebmisoginy/ .

I also setup a blog at http://notmadeforthis.wordpress.com, to follow events.

Web misoginy is a disgrace, and it needs to be stopped wherever we find it.

If you don’t know portuguese, you won’t be able to read neither the petition nor the blog, but I assure you that the site that they target is as bad as it can get.

I will ping your site from that blog, and if you can, please spread the word. I will have the petition online still today, May the 16th, and the blog will catch as much fire as I can breathe into it.

The web was not made for this!

    • Thanks for pointing out iPetitions, Licinio!

Whatever you feel strongly about, EXPRESS IT! Web misoginy is an interesting way of describing the naorrowmindedness of some people… But remember: if they knew better, they would do better! And, ultimately, you can only change yourself, not anybody else.

A petition is always targeted at someone from whom you want to do something specific. People in authority and institutions should at least ‘do their job’ and we can remind them. That’s what I’m trying to do with our petitions.

      With best wishes,
      Sabine
